Garmin USB drivers on Laptop Big problem

Here is my problem. can't get my New Oregon 300 to work on laptop,

Installed the Garmin Communicator ok, but It won't let me install the Garmin USB drivers

 

This laptop is Running Window XP Pro

 

and I am not set up as the adminstrator, thus cannot install drivers,

 

Aside from Doing a re-install of Windows, Any body know of a work around to get them installed?

I won't post them here, but there are a lot of small utilities that will switch a user to admin for XP machines (and others). I would suggest doing a google search for the utilities.

Hmm. Is it your laptop? If you've forgotten your own admin password, there are ways to reset it, usually requiring booting from a Linux CD or an Ultimate Boot CD for Windows (UBCD4win.com).

 

If it's not your laptop, well, that's between you and the owner...

You don't need any drivers to hook up an Oregon unless you want to run nRoute. They normally act as a mass storage device and need no drivers.
