+Scubasonic Posted November 20, 2008 Share Posted November 20, 2008 I have found VERY OLD Cahes in my area that have been Archived they are single # GC caches. I have contacted the owner who is no longer caching he said that he would be more then happy to let me adopt them just don't know how to go about doing it since they were archived a long time ago. any help would be greatly appriciated. Scubasonic Well, the owner will have to contact the review of the area and convince the review to activate the listing. Then the owner will have to go to www.geocaching.com/adopt and adopt the cache out to you. Good Luck, Jim Quote Link to comment
Mushtang Posted November 20, 2008 Share Posted November 20, 2008 For a cache to be unarchived it has to go through the review process and meet all current guidelines. It's doubtful that they'll unarchive a cache just so it can be adopted though. Your best bet is to submit a new cache listing for that location. Quote Link to comment

If you are saying you found the physical cache still in place then: Shame on the owner for not cleaning it up!! ...and you are welcome to hide a cache in the same spot that meets today's guidelines.
