The world’s weirdest engineering disaster may have been caused by a miscalculated triangulation station. I hope you don’t think it’s too far off topic. Lake Peigneur Louisiana 1980 A Texaco oil drilling rig set up at the wrong location and ended up destroying millions of dollars worth of property. No one was killed.
