+oikumene
I have updated Mapsource to 6.14.1 version and looks great. However there seems to be a problem. The name on the map of a waypoint does not appear even though the properties is name enabled. See attached pic. Quote Link to comment
Motorcycle_Mama
There are a lot of things about that version that don't work properly. The general recommendation is to roll back to version 6.13.7. Quote Link to comment
+oikumene
How do I do that? Quote Link to comment
Motorcycle_Mama
Download it from here. http://www.gpsinformation.org/perry/msource/ You make have to run it twice to get it to go back. Quote Link to comment
nors
There are a lot of things about that version that don't work properly. The general recommendation is to roll back to version 6.13.7. Mapsource 6.14.1 causes distorted shapes of maps so that they look really silly at different latitudes, they are especially flattened further North at higher latitudes and they are stretched vertically closer to the Equator. I contacted Garmin USA "technical support" about this but they just denied the problem (despite attached examples), whereas Garmin Europe acknowldeged the problem but had no solution ... so I would agree that version 6.14.1 is a failure (in several respects) and it is wise to replace it with 6.13.7 which can be accessed at http://www8.garmin.com/software/MapSource_6137.exe It will be interesting to see if Garmin's next version of Mapsource repeats this mistake or not.
