  1. What do you mean the magnetic poles are going to rotate? Is it North pole becomes the South and vice versa?
  2. I read some disturbing news regarding some GPS satelittes orbiting Earth will cease to function and thus the signal shall be very inaccurate. Please read these two articles: Daily Telegraph: Sat nav system could break down within a year Daily Telegraph: Ambulance drivers told to forget sat nav and use maps instead
  3. Support from Geocaching. com told me to: First try resetting your Iphone. Hold the home and power button until the white apple appears on the screen then let it go and wait for it to reboot. This can take as long as 4 minutes. If that doesn't work try uninstalling and reinstalling the software.
  4. I have installed the application Geocaching from iTunes on my iPhone 3G and when I press the button to find nearby geocaches, nothing happens. At my area there are numerous caches but the software seems to malfunction.
  5. I have updated Mapsource to 6.14.1 version and looks great. However there seems to be a problem. The name on the map of a waypoint does not appear even though the properties is name enabled. See attached pic.
  6. I have seen on Garmin's site the new GPS Oregon. Is Oregon a glorified Colorado? Has Garmin decided not to enhance the Colorado and thus issued a new model Oregon to make good for the mishaps on the Colorado? I hope not. It seems that Garmin have learned from the misgivings of the Colorado and thus issued a new model instead of enhancing the Colorado. Can someone 'decipher' the real intention behind this new model?
  7. I have installed maps on my Colorado and have three sets. I would like to delete one set of maps but do not know how. 2) It seems that Colorado does not start a new track log after switching off and on the GPS. THe GPSMap60CSx always creates a new log after switching on the GPS.
  8. Although there are some discrepancies but they are not that big. Some areas are very accurate, other areas are not.
  9. There is a 10% error in co-ordinates between Google Earth and Mapsource and even more geocache co-ordinates from Groundspeak www.geocaching.com website. It seems that GE and Groundspeak use different Datums.
  10. Did you seriously not know that there could be downsides to being an early adopter? I did not know that Colorado was so 'basic'. Well I have to be patient and see the Colorado getting better and better.
  11. Man, I am mad . I am discovering that the Colorado does not have this, does not have that, does not do this and does not do that and so on. I think I made a big mistake by buying it. I am sticking back to my 60CSx I have to wait until Garmin will issue a decent firmware upgrade.
  12. When I am in the Trip Computer, the GPS does not change the page to the MAP for an immenent turn but stays on the Trip Computer page. I can still hear the tone alarm informing me of the upcoming turn. This is called the turn previews and it is not working on my Colorado. How can I resolve this?
  13. Shortcuts->Others->Route Planner->Create Route to create. Same place to delete, select the route->Options->Delete Route. GO$Rs Many thanks
  14. How one deletes and create routes from within a Colorado 300?
  15. Malta Street Maps on Micro SD is available from: Medcomms Ltd. http://www.medcomms.com.mt.
  16. REsetting won't work. Only by clearing the Track.
  17. Reset elevation data only seems to reset the data fields not the plot. But another recent post made me wonder if clearing the tracklog might reset the elevation plot. I'm running some tests with the tracklog full right now so I don't want to try but you might see a Clear of the tracklog would have the desired effect. GO$Rs I have accomplished by resetting the graph by clearing the track log. But before that, I have archived the tracks then cleared the Current Track log and THEN the graph clears.
  18. I am trying to reset the Elevation graphs for barometer and elevation but the graphs do not disappear. Why?
  19. My advice - look at 60CSx manual : http://www8.garmin.com/manuals/GPSMAP60CSx_OwnersManual.pdf Christopher Thanks for your advice. I have another small question. Whats Plot over Time/Distance mean and why do one use it? I like these Forums because they are a source of help.
  20. If you want. How can I interpret the data? What conclusions can I get from the data?
  21. In the Manual of the Colorado 300 there is no explanation of the Compass various features such as: - Sight'N Go - Hold Level - Lock Direction > Set Course > Project Waypoint, Re-Sight. I am disappointed that GARMIN did not mention any of these features in the meagre manual. I found these features by trial and error however I do not know what they mean and what they do and why you use them.
  22. I am starting to make hikes and was wondering: I own a GPSMAP60Csx and the Trip Computer has a lot data. Some of the data include: Ascent Ascent Maximum Ascent Total Descent Descent Maximum Descent Total Can these data be used for hiking?
  23. without sunglasses i hope garmin is changing the colors and font-type Exactly, the Colorado is much darker than the CSx. Thanks for your photo.
