+msh260
Hi, I'm fairly new to geocaching, so I'm not sure of the correct etiquette for moving Geocoins and Travel Bugs. I recently came across a geocoin and moved it on, but I had nothing to exchange for it. When I placed it I took another from that cache. When I registered the movement there were comments from other cachers saying they had not moved the coin because they did not have another coin to exchange with it. Surely this defeats the object of travel bugs (accepting any particular objectives from the owner). So is it OK to take a TB without exchanging it for something, with the objective of moving it on? (Incidentally on of the coins I moved had been static for a long period). Thanks Mick Quote Link to comment
+Userzero
TBs and geocoins are not trade items. Their goal is written on their individual page. If you can help a TB achieve its goal, it's fine to take it without giving anything in return. Quote Link to comment
+RichardGo
TBs and geocoins are not trade items. Their goal is written on their individual page. If you can help a TB achieve its goal, it's fine to take it without giving anything in return. Some ppl like to take geocoins hostages and create geocoin hotels where you are not supposed to take a coin unless you leave one. IMO, if you see a coin and want to move it along, then by all means do so. Coins and TB are not swag items and shouldnt be treated as one. Edited August 14, 2008 by RichardGo Quote Link to comment
