+JohnnyBGoode
I have the basic Garmin E-trex and Garmin Summit. On both these machines the rubber around the buttons as come loose. Has anyone else had this problem and if so have they found a solution? Quote Link to comment
+Bear and Ragged
Yes. Upgrade to a newer model! Or. Carefully remove rubber, clean off all traces of old glue -acetone (nail polish remover). Try not to streatch the rubber. Rubber glue (Evo stick) with as little glue as you can -not over the buttons. Make sure old glue is removed and traces of cleaner are removed or the new glue wont stick... Others have tried double sided tape. Good luck! Quote Link to comment
NickPick
I had this happen on my yellow etrex about a year ago. I emailed garmin and asked about repairs. They said that they could repair it for me. I asked them to confirm whether there was a charge and they said it would be free. They actually sent me a brand new unit. Quote Link to comment

Since other threads have commented on the variability of Garmin support, could you give the email address where you asked please? Cheers, Trevor Quote Link to comment
