mikemaupin
Where is the bes place to get a city or detailed map for the garmin 60csx unit. Is there any place cheaper than 70-80 bucks and which one would be needed for East Tn? Would it be better to get a preloaded card or get a CD? Thanks, Mike Quote Link to comment
+lrosell
I would say get Mapsource Topo from Garmin. Quote Link to comment
+briansnat
CD is better than the card because you can run it on your PC and create routes and maps there. If you're looking for vehicle navigation software you need City Navigator for your 60CSX. It will give you turn by turn driving directions to a destination and also has a database of millions of services and businesses. So if you need to find the nearest gas station, restaurant, mall, post office, marina, campground, hotel, museum, park, school, etc... City Navigator will tell you where it is and how to get there. CN will run you a bit over $100 though. Amazon.com usually has pretty good prices. If you're a hiker, hunter, off roader or someone who otherwise ventures off the paved path, you might prefer Mapsource Topo. It's cheaper than City Navigator but doesn't give turn by turn driving instructions or have the database of businesses and services. What it does do however is show terrain features like streams, swamps, hills, ravines, cliffs, ponds, etc... which you don't see with City Naigator. Quote Link to comment
