+AF Bmet
what is the best way to get my PQ using GSAK into my 76csx. Should I load them onto my 2GB sd card? or directly into memory. Do I load them as geocaches, waypoints or POI???? Wife's Nuvi was easy. This one is taking a little more work. Quote Link to comment

You may need to upgrade to the latest version. Quote Link to comment
jholly
Probably easier than using Mapsource is to use GSAK. GSAK has the interface to load the waypoints directly into the internal memory, which is where waypoints are used. Hook up a usb cable to your computer and Garmin, GPS > Send Waypoints. done. On GPS > GPS setup make sure you select Garmin and check GPSr is USB. Jim Quote Link to comment

Do I load them as geocaches, waypoints or POI???? Wife's Nuvi was easy. This one is taking a little more work. Using GSAK, I load the caches as Geocaches (Waypoints) and as POIs. I have about 1700 caches in my "local" database in GSAK. I filter those down to fewer than 900 caches around the area I am heading towards and send those to my Vista HCx as Waypoints. I use GSAK's "smart name" codes to get a useful Waypoint name. Then, I cancel the filter and Export a .gpx file of all the caches in the database and send those to the card on the Vista HCx as POIs, using a little "treasure chest" icon for the Geocaching POIs.
