+SwshFmly
Can you log the mileage for a travel bug if you were unable to drop it into a cache? We brought a bug with us on vacation but were unable to find a local cache, is it still possible to log the mileage? I have the coordinates of where we went, and also took a picture. The general practice is you can log a bug in and out of a cache if the bug was actually there. It is frequently referred to as "dipping" the bug into the cache. Place it in the cache and then immediately retrieve it. Photos are always an added bonus. Quote Link to comment

It would be nice to give the bug credit for having made the journey but virtual logging is against the guidelines. Best thing to do is takes lots of pictures and give the bug an adventure. The owner will enjoy that just as much as some miles listed on the bug page. Quote Link to comment
