Magellan GPS315

I bought a Magellan GPS315 off of eBay. There is something rattling around inside and I suspect that it has to do with the antenna as it has problems acquiring and holding a signal.

 

Does anyone know how to open the case? There are no screws so I'm guessing that it snaps together, but where?

i am also using a 315, and have the same rattle.

It does not snap together; the case is ultrasonically welded.

 

You can open the case, but it will involve essentially a chisel to open and epoxy to close - and you can give up waterproof/dustproof once you do.

 

In short: no user servicable parts inside.

If someone open the box, some photos will be very interesting.

I always asking if a lithium battery is visible inside the unit (the famous 10 years battery).

My 315 works like a charm.... the best soups are cooked in the oldest pots (originally french : c'est dans les vieux pots que l'on fait les meilleures soupes)
