+aintnorock
I have a Garmin eTrex Legend (the B&W blue one) and I've been thinking about upgrading to something else. I'd like one that can be used in the car that has lots of roads and streets (and capable of interfacing with MS Streets and Trips), maybe talk to me. Plus, the same unit has to be portable and hand held for caching. I don't know if there are any "cross-over" products that are good for both auto navigation and caching. I'd like to hear some suggestions. Thanks, carl Edited April 18, 2008 by aintnorock Quote Link to comment
+XopherN71
Sounds like you would be happiest with 2 different devices. Personally, I had the nüvi and Garmin 60CSx... great combo. I ended up selling the nüvi to get a Colorado 400t + City Navigator in favor of using one device with paperless caching. Since I always had the text to speech muted anyway, I'm not really missing much other than width of the screen. Still debating whether or not I want to keep or sell the 60CSx... it's a great GPS device, but I really don't use it anymore now that I have the Colorado. +Red90
The answer is no. IMO, there are no good units that will do good car navigation and handheld use. If you want it all, you need to buy two units. Quote Link to comment
