+teamuni
when I do not find a cache and log in that I didn't find it and later find it on a 2nd or 3rd try, do I edit the 1st log or create a new log entry for the find? Quote Link to comment

Leave the DNF entry. It's nice to see that you came back and gave it another try. Quote Link to comment
+Markwell
...and posting a new log notifies the owner and watchers where editing does not. Quote Link to comment
+poohstickz
Finding the cache on the second, or third visit doesn't change the fact that you didn't find the cache the first time out. Your original DNF is still true and your subsequent found log will show what happened when you finally found the cache. There are caches where I've logged four or more DNFs. It's neither a bad thing nor a good thing, it's just the accurate history of what happened. As this is an exceedingly common question, if you use the search facility you'll find many, many, discussions on exactly this topic. Quote Link to comment
+hallycat
It also might alert other seekers that the cache is easier found in winter then summer as was the case with some I finally found once the foliage had died back. Quote Link to comment

When I typed "did not find log entries" it seemed my computer locked up with too many to search through. anyway thanks for the answer to my question Quote Link to comment
