+fourbeer
I have searched through the forums and have not been able to come up with the complete answer. I own City Select 4.01 and want to put those maps on my Colorado 400T internal memory. From my searching, I believe I need to compile a gmapsupp.img file from the various image files on my PC. How do I compile maps? Is there anything else I need to do? I see references to "Map Segments". However, the details about how to view and combine segments are not in the faq's. Thanks, Keith Quote Link to comment

I thought I read that people had unlocked their maps with the GPS's serial number. I have only used one of the two available unlocks. Quote Link to comment
+jotne
You need to have a unlock for your GPS. City Select 4.01 is very old and obsoleted. Latest version of streetmaps for your 400t City Navigator North America NT v2008 City Navigator Europe NT v2008 Quote Link to comment
+geobernd
I have installed City Select 5.0 maps to my 300 with no issues. Just let mapsource do the work and give you the second unlock code and you should be all set.... Make sure you stay under the available free memory.... As I don't use the Colorado for auto-routing (I have a second gps that can talk for that) I have Topo 2008 and CS5 loaded - CS5 is useful on some instances to me and I don't mind it being outdated... Thanks. I tried to let Mapsource do the unlocking, but for some reason it didn't like me using my 8 digit coupon code a second time. I then went to the garmin website, registered my version of city select and requested an unlock code for the second unit. Once I figured out that the Unit ID is not the same as the serial number, everything worked. I can now select the City Select maps I have downloaded. They look very nice in color (Compared to my GPS V). I will try auto-routing tomorrow. -Keith Quote Link to comment
