I bought a new GPSr and sold my perfectly functioning Legend Cx to a friend. He took it home and played with it and it worked fine. Then, last night he left it plugged into his iMac via USB and this morning it is DEAD.

I called Garmin who is willing to fix or replace for $99 but it is a two year old unit that I sold for $50. I don't think it is worth it.

Has anyone had any luck opening these things up and repairing them? I got it open, but frankly it is nothing but a circuit board with a screen, USB port, and micro-SD connectors. :(

Is it simply that the batteries are dead? Did you put fresh batteries in and try again?

Have you tried the "master reset" (with the unit turned off, press and hold the follow buttons: PAGE + ENTER, then press and release the POWER)?
