The PN-20 is a very good unit and is very high on my list of choices, my only concern is the screen size which if someone here who now owns both could you please take a snapshot of both side by side. The map options on the PN-20 mean alot to me with the only concern being screen size and possibly the reception that it gets, i.e. heavy foilage.

 

How does the PN-20 screen size compare to a Vista HCX?

A picture's worth a thousand words, but I couldn't find one. The specs suggest they are virtually the same size:

 

Vista HCx

Display size, WxH: 1.3" x 1.7" (3.3 x 4.3 cm)

Display resolution, WxH: 176 x 220 pixels

Display type: "256 level color TFT"

 

PN-20

Display size, WxH: 1.375" x 1.75" (3.5 x 4.4 cm)

Display type: "Transflective TFT"

Don't have the Vista but here is an actual screen shot from my PN-20. (looks a tad bit bigger on here than in real life but still very good)

I overlooked this...the PN-20 has fine reception. People who have put it up against the 60csx reported comparable performance.

 

Some have observed that the accuracy fields favor other models. Delorme has said that they regard the other models as overly optimistic, and that they have used a more conservative algorithm to calculate their value.
