+jerryo
I just came across the term Not Validated Member applied to someone who was previously a member/premium member. What does it mean? I thought it was a sort of limbo for someone who'd not renewed their premium membership but I'm only speculating. Quote Link to comment
+Bear and Ragged
I Think... It's not replying to the Groundspeak email sent to your email address... Email address changed in the profile/account details recently? G Quote Link to comment
Deceangi
KandG have it correct, when you first register with GC or when you change your email address. GC send a validation email to the email address with a link which has to be clicked on to confirm that a genuine address is being used and not a bot. The other scenario is that the emails sent by GC are being bounced back, due to the address no longer being used or [and this is especially relevant to AOL users] rather than opt out of receiving emails the recipient has marked them as Spam. Every so often Groundspeak has a clearance of email addresses which have been bounced back, making the account to which each is linked as being Non Validated stops emails being sent to these addresses. Helping to insure that GC is not blacklisted by the recipients ISP. Failing to renew Premium Membership just results in the account reverting back to being a Non Premium Member Account.
