westonwanderers
I've written a GPS app for Nokia Phones, with built in GPS. Its more suited for Geocaching, as you enter the coords you want to go to in H DD MM.MMM format. Let me know what you think! Instructions: To download, point your Phone wap browser to here: http://www.tonywestonuk.plus.com/GPS-ME.jad alternatly, download the jar from here, and transfer to your phone using Bluetooth. http://www.tonywestonuk.plus.com/GPS-ME.jar * - change centre view of GPS # - update waypoint, on waypoint screen. cbellero
Anybody try this program? I actually tried this out today. Nice little application. I am a beginner geocacher, so keep that in mind when reviewing my comments. I tried this with the Nokia N95. Liked: 1. Simple tool with simple interface 2. Compass is larger than the native software 3. The key information of the native software (excluding accuracy) can be scrolled through with a single button on same screen. Suggestions for improvement: 1. Get a nicer icon for the application - 2. Importing and storing geocaches would make this much stronger. 3. Add an option to keep screeen backlighting always on or not. It seems on my mobile it always stayed on, which might not always be desired. Today in the forest, it was fine however. +trainlove
Um, something very important does not seem to be displayed. Just how far is that waypoint? 0.1 inch or 25,000 miles? I.E. Is that coord the coord of the waypoint or where you are right now? Quote Link to comment
