Planning routes w/Google Earth

Would someone who knows more than me remind me of how to port a route from Google Earth to Geocaching.com to build a PQ?

The directions are on this page User routes scroll down. KEY is that when you create a route ("directions") in google earth, the default save file type is .kmz, and you MUST change that to .kml.

 

For whatever reason, I find that it's 50/50 on uploading my saved routes. Sometimes it works on the first try, sometimes I have to do it again (and occasionally, again). Ultimately it always loads. Some browser glitch I expect.
