Bdubs
I purchased a new Garmin 530Hcx GPS unit. I have successfully uploaded both City Navigator North America and Topo 2008 portions to the unit. When geocaching, I use the City Nav map to get me close then I would like to switch to the topo when on foot. I can not figure how to do this in the field. Please advise. thanks in advance! bdubs Quote Link to comment
QuigleyJones
On a 60 you go to map page, menu, then theres a list of all the map segments loaded, press menu and select hide City Nav. I suspect the rino would be similar. Quote Link to comment
Bdubs
Thanks for the quick reply! I was not drilling down far enough on the menu. I found it and can toggle the maps. Now I need to get into the country to see if topo is on, can't tell in the city. thanks again! Bdubs Quote Link to comment
+Sllim Chance
I've got the same problem. I can hide basemap and city navigator, but it doesn't say anything about showing or hiding topo. I'm also on a Rino 530HCx. Any ideas? Quote Link to comment
+Sputnik 57
Are you sure you have Topo loaded on the Rino? You have to select and load CN and Topo maps simulataneously. If you load Topo maps, and then loand CN maps, they'll over-write the Topos you loaded (and vice versa). Quote Link to comment

I selected maps (sections) from Topo and CN and then installed maps. I double checked to make sure that I had selections from both maps hilighted. I'm trying a small area to try to figure it out. I'll post back. If this doesn't work, I'll go boot back into windows and try from Waypoint Manager. Thanks for your thoughts. Quote Link to comment

I tried again with a small area from each map and it loaded them both. Now Topo and CN have show and hide options. Thank you, Mike Quote Link to comment
