If you can't get away for the whole weekend to attend The Perseids Meteor Shower Event and still want to hike with some company, Plaidguy and I are going up Mt. Si on Saturday, Aug 11. The long range forecast indicates a nice day so there should be a good view. We're going to start early at 7 AM. Anyone that wants to join us is welcome! For those interested in the Washington History Challenge, SiHi is one of the caches required for it. We're going to take it at an easy pace, ourselves. Speed climbers can give us some high fives when they pass us on their way back down.

Wow, what a day! We got to SiHi only to find Mr. Puppers and the TwinSpin family already there waiting for us. The TwinSpin family had to head back down but we and Mr. Puppers were feeling so good we decided to head over to Teneriffe. Wow, what a mind blowing view from there, plus the opportunity to look down on the Haystack of Mt. Si. Too bad we DNF'd the cache up there. We were going to go down the Kamikaze trail (we parked one car at that trailhead) but try as we might, we couldn't find the trail. After lots of dead ends, we finally decided to go the long way around via the logging road. Finally got back to the car after hiking 16 miles, for almost 12 hours, and Heaven knows what total elevation gain. There was a lot of elevation gain and loss between Si and Teneriffe. So we're really tired but it was a great day. Mr. Puppers, you are a good sport for doing all that with us and finish the day up smiling!:unsure:
