Mad H@ter
To co-inside with Dreaming Spires Cache Bash 07 we have now had approval for the Let's Go Camping In Oxford - The Big Birthday Bash meet at the nearby Greenhill campsite. Why not make a weekend of it and come camping in Oxford. If you are planning to attend this event could you please post your intentions on the listing. Quote Link to comment
Simply Paul
Great. Two local cache events I can't make, instead of one. You're cruel cruel people! Quote Link to comment
The Cache Hoppers
Oh no! The Phillies will be getting their birthday deccies out again Will we hear the distant sound of Elton John at the Stadium this year? Can we have a mini bus every 15 mins up to the loos please? Quote Link to comment
Mad H@ter
Can we have a mini bus every 15 mins up to the loos please? Not necessary, a new toilet block has been built right by our pitches, so those with weak bladders are now catered for. Quote Link to comment
Mad H@ter
Just a week to go (for us anyway ) and everything is looking good for a great weekend, weather booked (not saying what sort though ), at least 5 new caches for release on the Friday, and lots o friends booked in, we can't wait. Sue is planning a raffle to raise funds for Dogs for the Disabled and Search And Rescue Dogs which will be drawn on Saturday at 2:00pm at the Dreaming Spires Cache Bash. She already has a number of prizes (which will be listed on here soon) but any more donations will be gratefully received. Last year you raised £100 for Mountain Rescue, let’s see if we can beat that. Quote Link to comment
The Other Stu
For those of you who have asked during the last couple of camping outings, I hope to have acquired 10 Can Caddies (they stick in the ground and hold a can!) in time for the camping event. They look like this....... Just for info [] --------------------- Note: I'm not making any profit at all out of these so please don't tell me off for selling stuff, it's just that these are difficult to get hold of and I've managed to order 10. +Bambi&Thumper
Great. Two local cache events I can't make, instead of one. You're cruel cruel people! Mmmm, just as it looks increasingly like I will be down here for sometime, two events right on my doorstep that I can't make either... and for the same reason I guess! Bah B. Quote Link to comment
Mad H@ter
Well it looks like the weather gods are not going to be on our side this year (I suppose we can't complain, we've had 3 good ones so far), but we are hoping to be able to borrow a small marquee from our local Scout Group. The campsite have more or less agreed to this, so at least we will have somewhere to shelter from the rain if the weather men have got it right for a change . If this plan goes ahead we shall be going around with the begging bowl to try and recouped some of the £50 donation that the Scouts have asked for. Quote Link to comment
Mad H@ter
Ok then, it looks like we’ve got carried away a bit with placing new caches for the weekends events, 25 new caches . The plan is to release the 18 new Oxford Canal caches late Thursday night so that they will be available to download prior to departing for the camping event on the Friday, printouts will also be available. The remaining 7 caches, including an EarthCache will not be released until the late afternoon/evening on the Saturday, but print outs for these plus some new ones by ijcoxf will available from about 12:30pm at the pub.
