+pigpen4x4
I bought a older Handspring Visor a while ago, and I was THRILLED with it's performance. Until Saturday. The battery was showing about 1/2 when I turned it on. I read a cache, started for it and next time it would not power up. O.K., older batteries, they are a little weak, I can live with that. IF. If I don't lose my data. Most of you already know what happend next. Yep, all my data is in La La land. I had not Hotsynced in a couple of weeks, losing some data on a couple of series. So now I want a PDA that won't lose all the data if the batteries lose all their power. Is there such an animal? How about the cheap, is it Zire 22? Thanks! PP Quote Link to comment
+The Jester
I feel your pain. I lost a few days worth of data on a caching vacation when the batteries in my PDA popped out (answers to virts and finds/take/leave/TB's). Like you I hadn't hotsync'd that trip (yet). I haven't heard of a PDA that will hold all data with dead batteries, but that doesn't mean there isn't one out there. The best answer I can give you is get in the habit of hotsync'ing. +kenk
From the Palm Zire 22 on-line manual: "And don’t worry about losing your information. You can synchronize your info to your computer so you always have a backup copy, and even if the battery drains completely, the information stays in your handheld’s memory. Simply recharge your handheld to access the info again." Quote Link to comment
+RRLover
LifeDrives an T/Xs don't go stupid @ power loss either, not sure about others, but seems to be a good trend for a change . . . . in the new Palms that is, Magellan . . . . . not so sure yet, wish the dust would hurry up and settle!
