Magellan Explorist Export from GSAK

I recently purchased a Magellan Explorist 500LE. How do I download from GSAK directly to my Explorist? My Explorist uses a USB port, while the selections on GSAK only show Serial Port for a Magellan. Do I have to get a USB to Serial Cable to make it work?

I tried going through the GPS tab and Exporting to Explorist, but that does not seem to load to my GPS'r. It only create a GS file for the Eplorist Geocache Manager. Am I missing some step?

The Geocache Manager will accept .loc or .gpx files for import, but will export a .gs file--like GSAK is doing. You just need to export the .gs file to the geocaches folder in the explorist's internal memory or sd card (i.e., what CanClan said).

Optionally, you can choose to write a .upt file in a POI folder, if you want the cache information loaded as regular POIs.

I had the same problem with a 500LE I had. Never could get it to work.

I am sure there is a way, but not for me. I returned the 500 and got a Garmin 60csx and never looked back.

Sorry I wasn't more help.

I use the 500LE for all my geocaching. I just use GSAK to create the .gs file & save it on the hard drive. Then I use Windows Explorer to drag & drop the file in the Explorist geocaching folder. Really pretty easy. I also create the .wpt file that Mapsend uses to display the caches. The Explorist looks like any other hard drive once it is connected by the USB cable.
