+cownchicken
With 2007 in the not too distant future, lets all make a New Years resolution to maintain our caches. It is really no fun driving a good few kilometres or climbing quite a koppie/ mountain to find that caches no longer exist or are in such a poor condition that even logging your find becomes a mission. Yet despite numerous negative logs, the cache owners still do nothing. Here in the Western Cape we have numerous caches that have been disabled for 6 months - come on guys, MAINTAIN!! - make this your New Years Resolution. +Tricky Vicky & Mickey
Well said, Cownchicken - we couldn't agree more! Placing caches is very important - we all want to be able to find lots of them, but making sure they stay up and running and in good nick for all to enjoy is just as important. So ....... roll on 2007 - we will do our very best to check on our caches frequently and keep them in pristine condition for you all to enjoy. Quote Link to comment
+QFC
I have found that a "Needs Maintenance" and if totally necessary a "Needs Archive" note helps a lot to speed up the process since then our good old moderators get involved. Quote Link to comment
+batsgonemad and his squirrel
I do agree fully with what has been said, especially if the cache no longer exists and we like kieppies go to find it and it's no longer there, can be very frustrating, what makes it more frustrating is if the person who placed the cache is no where near to maintain the cache and it's then almost expected of the local cachers to maintain it i say bad sportsmanship. Unless you have a specific person appointed in your absence to maintain the said cache they should not be published. Quote Link to comment
