WildWeasel
Looking for any suggestions as to which handheld GPS to purchase. I'd like something that's easy to use and in the $200 to $300 price range. Any help would be appreciated. I was interested in the Magellan Explorist 500LE or the Garmin GPSMAP 60 Quote Link to comment

+geognerd
I'll somewhat agree. If you are looking at the eX500LE, the more comparable Garmin product would be the 60Cx. It will be cheaper than the 60CSx (by how much depends on where you shop) and the only thing you'll be losing is the barometer and 2-axis magnetic compass. Do note that there is a $50 mail-in rebate on the 60Cx and 60CSx (plus the eTrex Cx models) until the end of this month. I've borrowed a GPSmap 60 and its performance under tree cover isn't as good as the eXplorist, so the only Garmins you should look at should be the SiRF receiver-equipped models like the 60Cx, 60CSx, 76Cx, and 76CSx.
