Shiraz-mataz
I thought geocachers were the "pariahs" of the Appalachian Trail... Instead of "leave no trace" we are more along the line of "leave some Tupperware!" Are you sure they would want our involvement? I read through the web site in the provided link and it didn't make a lot of sense. Quote Link to comment
+The Leprechauns
As much as I love hiking on the AT, with limited volunteer hours I would rather support agencies like the Pennsylvania DCNR or local conservancy groups that are pro-geocaching. There was a huge effort this year to remove caches in or near the AT corridor throughout Pennsylvania. The NPS would need to signal that geocachers' involvement would be welcome, and might lead to a change in their policy. Quote Link to comment

Influencing policy from within is much easier than from outside an organization. Quote Link to comment
