+Cornerstone4
whats the difference ? do they both perform the same function, to get moved from cache to cache ? kate Basically the same idea. The TB tag is something you buy, and put on an item you have to travel. All TB's have the same icon. Coins can be trackable, or not. For the trackable ones, their tracking number is imprinted directly on the coin. You need to enter the number to see if the coin has a specific goal. In addition, many of the coins have custom icons that will be added to your profile when you log them. There is a thread further down dealing with TBs and coins...which is where I'm sure this thread will be moved to! Quote Link to comment

+TheAlabamaRambler
Theoretically, yes, coins can be travelers like TBs. The difference is that all TBs are activated and given a mission. Coins are activated at the owners whim. The general concept is that an unactivated coin can be a collector or trade item, whereas a TB cannot be. Activated coins are sometimes given a mission and expected to travel. Unfortunately coins are attractive and folks tend to hold onto them instead of moving them. And, unlike TBs, some coins aren't numbered at all and are used for trading and collecting. Coins may be bought and sold, unlike TBs Ed Quote Link to comment
+BlueDeuce
The difference between coins and TBs is a reflective pool. You don't how deep it is until you dip your toe. For new people the answer is that both are travelers however there may be some that are not tracked on this site. Beyond that if you want more information, dive right in. Quote Link to comment
