Mapquest Maps

:rolleyes: We are having a problem printing maps for more than one Geocache. Clicking on the Map Pin gives us a mapquest map that we can zoom in on and print. Trying to repeat the process fpr a second cache results in a blank screen. This problem began about 10 days ago. The problem is happening on two seperate computers. Our remedy has been to exit the site and reenter for a second map. Is anyone else having the same problem? Anyone have any thoughts?

Come to think of it, that is what happened when I tried to print a second map on Saturday. I just thought that the site had slogged down.

Also... why is it when you click on the mapquest map you get a really scrambled border? It used to be an even blue border around the map, with the zoom buttons and scale on one side. Now, the first click on the map reveals a map with a really strange border.... no border around most of it, with "slabs" all stacked up at one end? Zooming in returns the map border to its regular state. This has been happening for a couple of weeks at least.

What's up?

Is the map hosted on geocaching.com?

Yes it is! It's the map that appears on the page when you bring up a GC waypoint number. The problem appears when you click on the push pin on that map.

I've been seeing something similar for the last week or so.

I open the mapquest map in another window to get a print out of the location of the map (really useful when hitting those urban/suburban caches). I've been doing this for months without a problem.

Now, while this works the first time, the following time I get a blank map area at mapquest. Its strange that when this started, was the same time mapquest seemed to have made some changes to how you navigate their maps (zoom in/out).

I've basically had to give up and use yahoo maps to get my maps.

GSAK forums FTW. Luckily it should be a quick fix.

My old custom URL of

MapQuest=http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?latlongtype=decimal&latitude=%lat&longitude=%lon

(which I assume was "standard") stopped working today. MapQuest has made some changes to their website and maps.

This one works:

MapQuest=http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?searchtype=address&formtype=latlong&latlongtype=decimal&latitude=%lat&longitude=%lon

I'm also having a problem with the Mapquest maps on cache pages.

It seems that the Mapquest links need to be corrected.

It looks like a problem with the Mapquest website. The other map links (Yahoo, Google maps, Mappoint, Rand, etc.) all show the correct location.

I tried several other cache pages and clicked on the map. They all go to the same point in Kansas.
