Some ideas that I currently have would be: Locomotives - you know the ones that are in city parks. Train Depots - old train depots from the hay day Model Train Layout - Model Train Layouts that are open to the public and much much more. Each one can be a separate "Category" Trains -------------active/ converted/static display Locomotives------active/static display,museums Train Stations----active/converted Cabooses---------restaurants,cottages/workshops/storage See Caboose Photos here Baggage cars - Dining cars - etc. See where I am going? Some Yard Offices and Station Master Houses date from the 1890's. Many such structures still are owned by the RR and are in use. Others have been converted or abandoned. -Paul- Link to comment

Aushiker Posted July 14, 2006 Share Posted July 14, 2006 (edited) Hi Haven't looked at the all the items, but for example there is already a category for Railroad Bridges, Railway Roundhouses, and Abandoned Train Tunnels. My suggestion would be to look at starting with a category for one item of interest, e.g., Railway Stations and then see how that goes. There are some pretty amazing modern and historical ones around. For example at least one of the ones here on the Joondalup line have won design awards. I don't think a single category with variables would work well at all. You need to also search to see what is already in place in terms of categories. I think Aushiker has a good point. These are the same categories I found in my scan. Plus Scenic Railroads. Train depots don't seem to fit anywhere in the current categories.
