Gpsmap60cs Using S/w For Europe

Hi Everyone,

 

Had anyone actually used a GPSMap60CS in Europe and used the Metro Guide Europe V8 software?

 

I actually called Garmin and they told me I could use Metro Guide Europe V8 ($160) or City Navigator Europe ($349). However, when I look at their compatibility chart I do not see the Metro Guide listed as compatible.

 

So now, I am looking for a real person who has actually used the Metro Guide version to verify I should buy this one.

 

(I know that City Navigator Europe provides auto routing but the price is too high for a 3 week trip)

 

I am going to Paris for three weeks and it sure would be nice to bring along my GPS.

I don't have an answer, but do have the same question (so replying moves this back up the list!). I have a 60x and want mapping capabilities for a one week trip to the Netherlands.

MetroGuide will work fine, just no street routing. The map material is the same.
