eagleeye
I just got a 60cx and City navigator v7 mapsource. I have unlocked the regions but when I get ready to download a map I get an error message 'THERE WAS A PROBLEM COMMUNICATING WITH THE DATA CARD. THE DEVICE IS NOT READY'. What am I doing wrong or is there a problem with the data card that came with the unit. Quote Link to comment
Neo_Geo
Let me take a shot-in-the-dark on what size Data Card you're using... Would it be 128MB by any chance??? Am I psychic, or what? Nah - psyCHOTIC maybe, but we can discuss that in another thread. CLICK HERE to read a thread about this problem. Take the card back to where you got it and get a 256MB card as there doesn't seem to be an answer to it yet. Or you could get a card reader/writer and send the maps to the card that way. +GOT GPS?
I have a Map60Cx also. It is very strange, if the card that came with the GPS is defective. Is the MicroSD card a 64meg card? Did you try removing and reinserting the memory card? Problems with the card in the GPS, or in a card reader? Edited May 3, 2006 by GOT GPS? Quote Link to comment

I don't have a card reader. I really don't want to go that route. The unit should work as is. Quote Link to comment

Neo_Geo
HMMmmmmmm... So far I've only heard this problem with 128MB cards that people have bought to upgrade the memory. First time I've heard of it with a different size card, and the one that came with the unit no less. I would contact Garmin, or exchange the unit at place of purchase (whichever would be more convenient for you). Quote Link to comment
