Mapsource V3.02 Topo With Garmin Etrex Legend

I have MapSource v3.02 Topo to use with a Garmin eTrex Legend

 

I can make routes and waypoints and upload them, but I get the following error when I try to send a map.

 

DSK_FIRSTBOOTRECORD.CPP-252-3.02

 

Anyone seen this error?

Nevermind. I figured it out. I uped my Baud rate to 19200.

Hey, how did you get it to work?

I also have the same config but mapsource doesn't see my gps. Are you using a usb cable or serial cable?

If you are use a serial cable, do I need the serial driver for the gps?

Well it turns out I didn't get it to work. not really.

 

I can load a few maps from the West and East CD, but the ones around Atlanta (where I live) give me the above error. It had nothing to do with my BAUD rate - I'm also using serial.

I'm suspecting bad CDs or a perhaps a bad CD ROM drive. Try making a folder somewhere on the computer and see if you can successfully copy the contents from one of the CDs into the new folder.

I have tried different computers, installing from a HDD and even making my own CDs.

 

I found out that I do have some maps covering a large checker board for the EAST CD. Funny that the maps that do not work follow this pattern...

I also tried to upgrade to TOPO 6.10.2 and still get the same error.

 

I guess I got boned on these CDs
