+Kayak Kouple Posted March 18, 2006 Share Posted March 18, 2006 I own 2 GPS' a 60cs & an old GPS12 which i still like..I bought a combined cable for puter & car lighter...I was able to download waypoints from GSAK once & if I remember right had to do something special....But now for the life of me I cannot remember what to do ...any help would be appreciated thanks in advance Quote Link to comment
+PDOP's Posted March 18, 2006 Share Posted March 18, 2006 If you're using the USB cable with your 60cs then you'll have to uncheck the "GPS is USB" box on the GPS Setup screen to use the serial connection with your GPS12. Quote Link to comment

I have done that to.....how do I tell if the puter & gps are connected ...when ever I connect it I do not hear any sound or see anything that shows it is connect Quote Link to comment

A recent problem that someone else experienced like this ended up being caused by dirty pins on the cable or GPS. It was solved by cleaning the connectors with alcohol. Do you have any other program running that may have grabbed the com port? (hotsync or other)? To rule out cable problems try another program like GPS Trackmaker (freeware) to transfer data.
