Since we are quite close to the annual CITO (Cache-In, Trash-Out) events time of year, I would suggest that you attend one that may be near to your home location. You would be sure to meet a good number of the active cachers in your area and no doubt some of them will be members and/or hold executive positions with area geocaching associations. In addition to that there are always "event caches" where the sole purpose is to get as many cachers together as possible.
