Just stumbled on something historic. I think early on, Jeremy had the profiles link to him if the owner went missing. That way emails to the cache owner could be answered by someone. +welch Posted February 13, 2006 Share Posted February 13, 2006 The ways I heard it, early on Jeremy wanted to make sure all the caches from the first geocaching website made it over here, so he submitted them himself to speed up the transfer. Which is why the the caches are spread over a dozen states and a couple countries. Quote Link to comment
+DavidMac Posted February 13, 2006 Share Posted February 13, 2006 I'm surprised that the coordinates weren't changed to N89 00.000 E 000 00.000 or something similar, as seemed to be standard practice for archived caches way back in the day. I'm sure there was a reason for it then, but I wonder how much historic information from the early days of caching has been lost that way. Quote Link to comment
