+team fuzzybunny
I'm not sure fingerprints are cover by any warranty but I'd try to get an RMA and send It back. You paid good money for that unit and to open up the package and see a fingerprint. . . . well thats just bullcrap. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!!!! Quote Link to comment
+team fuzzybunny
just foolin with you I'd really send it back if you can"t remove the print. Quote Link to comment
kirklyn
just foolin with you I'd really send it back if you can"t remove the print. the fingerprint is inside and opening it myself if possible would void the warranty. i emailed garmin im sure they will take care of it. just curious if anyone else has seen this before? +ghs
Okay, I'll quit worrying about the little tiny spec of dust underneath my display. (Thanks for making me feel better but I'm sorry you have to go through the hassle of returning a GPSr for a problem there's just no excuse for.) Quote Link to comment
+JDandDD
Raises the question of where was the quality inspection on this? Maybe you could get the print ID'd and get that person to pay for your unit? JDandDD Quote Link to comment

+scott9282
It almost sounds like you got a reconditioned unit. Maybe the screen was replaced for whatever reason, and the tech doing this didn't take as much care as was needed to prevent the print. If it turns out that it was reconditioned, and you paid for a new unit, I'd get in touch with the retailer and have a little discussion about it. I've bought reconditioned items before, but I always knew going in that they were refurbs. Never an electronic item though. Mostly tools and other such hard goods. Quote Link to comment
