nothing yet it seems my waypoint symbols reverted back to the old style also.

yes there is a garmin folder then inside that a map file (gmapsupp, IMG file, 56,015kb) and a Poi folder and inside the Poi folder (poi, GPI file, 1kb). thats it the poi file has 11 custom poi's in it. and you can delete all poi's by just right clicking on that file and deleting its that simple. i have screen shots if you want email me.

just going by memory it puts a folder named garmin and inside that folder is an .inf file i think (same as what the map data in mapsource are when installed on your hard drive(example under topo say folder labled east) that is the format. again im at work and am going by memory. POI's also have a folder and in that is whatever format it was saved in and just one file that could contain just one or many POI's.

the legend CX only has its original firmware 2.20 815 maps totaling 229mb.

put a 512mb microsd in my legend Cx loaded with topo, r&r, and rec. lakes around 250mb total. playing around with setup once i got to text page total melt down. the screen just went dim and slowly faded away to nothing only thing i could do is turn off. it was a little sluggish when i first powered it on but seemed ok until that point. would turn back on again but kept doing it until i put the 64mb it came with back in now works perfect again. ????????

bonus to all. i wonder if the 60 and 76's got exxtra MB's.

you can go to garmin's web site find topo and in the upper right you can click on east and demo it to see for yourself if the trails are their or if you like it for that matter. i us it on only certain occasions and like it.

bought a legend Cx tonite and when i poped out the transflash its says sandisk 64MB. anyone else seen this i believe its suppose to be 32MB?

if your looking for software to put in your unit i would go to garmins web site and you can see what they offer for your needs. you can also view their software (demo it) on their site to see for sure if it offers what you want. i like topo but my first choice is roads and rec. (discontinued) lots of road detail poi etc... i have both loaded on my garmin. hope this helps

the fingerprint is inside and opening it myself if possible would void the warranty. i emailed garmin im sure they will take care of it. just curious if anyone else has seen this before?

anyone seen this before? bought a legend C yesterday and it has half a fingerprint on the color screen in the lower left. not on the plastic cover but right on the actual display itself.

Understanding 3 Axis Digital Compass Instruments: A 2 axis compass must remain level (perpendicular to Earth's gravity) to avoid extreme errors in heading. 3 Axis Instruments deliver accurate heading at any attitude within their tilt ranges using electronic gimbaling calculated from 3 axes of magnetic sensors and a bi-axial tilt sensor. The orientation is corrected for magnetic distortion from magnetic sources and materials in 3-D. Mechanically gimbaled and 2-axis solutions cannot provide correction in 3-D. The instruments provide orientation data for all three angles: heading, pitch and roll.

at this point i am not making an assumtion as to why basspro is doing an investigation as they said, but i am concerend as to why they would say they had stock but was not releasing its stock until the investigation is over and to the nature of the investigation is what i am wondering. it could just be a damaged crate or perhaps they found somyhing in a crate? maybe someone else should call to verify that i was not getting an excuse as we somtimes do.

ordered a 60Cx from basspro yesterday and today was told they have them in stock but are holding all shippments due to a corporate investigation? i asked what type of investigation and why and was told they usually do this type of procedure when something is wrong with the product? what do you think?

i use a garmin 176c in my car and switch it to my boat when i use that.color is okay without backlight on but much better when on so i wired mine directly. detail is great and it can accept all mapsource products. i use r&r u.s. great for on and off road excursions. i have no clue on battery life and they also make the greyscale 176. no geocaching icons but i use it to just get close then use my legend. kirk

I just bought a new legend on june 18th and i to am seeing lost external power with a 30 sec. countdown. this is what i have figured out so far. the first day home was sunny and hot and with fresh batteries from home i set the unit out to aquire sats and 10 min. later when i checked the unit was off, tried again same thing. went to buy new batteries tried again this time on front deck and worked fine not realizing then the front deck was shaded and a little cooler then out back. went out caching yesterday worked flawless even under heavy cover with shade of course. today bored and home with new baby i sat outside to see how accurate i could get this thing and thats when i started having problems with the message about every minute or so. my conclusion is there must be some sort of shut down caused by excessive heat. post here if anything has been discovered on this matter. thanks, kirklyn

figured it out by researching forums sorry for the premature post.

does anyone know if the preset icon set can be added to. i have a 176c with r&r on it and the icons on r&r wont load to my unit unless they are in it already. like the geocache box icon wont load on this unit it gets changed to something else during transfer? thanx, kirk
