+The Blue Quasar
There are currently thousands of locations administered by Parks Canada that are not actually identified by location on the Parks Canada site. The "Designations of National Historic Significance" would be a great way to add a record of where these important locations are. To Parks Canada, these are a subset of the "National Historic Sites"... but often just a plaque is provided. This would fit in well with the Catagory of Historical Markers. The Blue Quasar Cannot provide link as the sub page has the same URL as the main page Parks Canada Click on National Historic Sites... below the nice picture is the SEARCH area, it's the second option Link to comment
+Jake39
Try this National Historic Sites and hit 'reload current page' button a couple of times for different pictures. Link to comment
+The Blue Quasar
Try that for????? It does pop in new pictures, but there still is no record of Geo-data location. What I'm proposing is similar to the Historic Markers like PA, OH, GA and CA (California) have. There is already a proposal for the Ontario Historic Markers too.... Here is an example of the limited data currently available Directory of Designations of National Historic Significance of Canada Ridgeway Battlefield National Historic Site of Canada Ridgeway, Ontario Date Designated: 1921 Plaque status: Plaqued in 1929 Site of battle against Fenian raiders, 1866 That's it.. no location, no picture... nothing.... I know it says it's in Ridgeway.... but if this was Toronto instead of Ridgeway... that would be hard to locate. Actually, this marker is 3 kilometers outside of Ridgeway... still hard to find unless you're a local. The Blue Quasar Link to comment
+The Blue Quasar
Closing as I have lumped this in with my other proposal The Blue Quasar Link to comment
