Hello,

I am new to this and have several questions so I can get started.

 

First I am unable to use the search option on the forum page. It keeps giving me an error message that I "do not have permission to use this feature".

 

Second and most important.

Suggestions on where to go to get help with my Palm 500 and GPS Companion.

I cannot figure out how to get data transfered to the unit.

Any suggestions on which application is best for my equipment?

Can't help you withe the first question, but maybe I can with the second one. I am new to the paperless caching and have a M505. I use Cachmate on the palm and GSAK on the pc. Open you pocket query with GSAK, use the export to Cachmate PDB file and save it to your palm addon directroy. Open your palm desktop software and use the quick install to add the exported PDB file to the list. Next time you Sync the palm the files will be transferred to it. The cachmate program can be added this way also. Good luck.

1. Forum search function broken. Seems like no sign of it being fixed anytime soon.

2. Agree with cervi on Cachemate & GSAK. I've been using them both for several years, and both are great, well supported, cheap.

Thanks a lot. Have downloaded and installed GSAK and Cachmate. Found my first cache yesterday and more to come today.

Do you recommend FULL membership with GSAK? In other words, is the best for my GPS/PDA?
