I have searched and searched and cannot seem to find an answer to the problem I am having. I am trying to put all of my maps and geocaches on the blank microSD card i just installed. I got the maps installed by using mapsource but then I discovered that the basemap disappeared. The pre installed garmin world basemap seems to have disappeared entirely. (I think I may have deleted it when trying to move it from the unit to the microSD card). I tried putting geocaches on the microSD using GSAK but as far as I can tell there is no way to choose that drive. All geocaches are stored in the units memory. Any help is appreciated. 1) finding my lost basemap 2) navigating between the two memories.

Very cool!!!!!! I have been marking centers of greens with my gps for some time now. I will have to try your technique before I play a new course. By the way, it is perfectly aok that you use a gps for golf as long as it is not a competive event. Even then it is aok as long as the club/event sponsor ok's it for the event.

I have been trying to get my list of caches into mapsend directroute so I can view them on the home computer. If this is possible then I can download into my explorist. Is this possible? If so how do I do it? I am using GSAK to manage caches but I also have the Magellan geocache manager. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ready to buy a GPS. I really like the eXplorist XL but nobody is saying much about it. I like the large display. I would love to hear your thoughts on which unit to purchase. In other words see if I can be talked out of an eXplorist XL. I am ready to spend $500 to get the best I can. Thanks to all

Thanks a lot. Have downloaded and installed GSAK and Cachmate. Found my first cache yesterday and more to come today. Do you recommend FULL membership with GSAK? In other words, is the best for my GPS/PDA?

Hello, I am new to this and have several questions so I can get started. First I am unable to use the search option on the forum page. It keeps giving me an error message that I "do not have permission to use this feature". Second and most important. Suggestions on where to go to get help with my Palm 500 and GPS Companion. I cannot figure out how to get data transfered to the unit. Any suggestions on which application is best for my equipment? thanks
