Why Is It So Hard To Find My Posts?

So I made a few posts and haven't logged in in a few days so they're pretty far down the list. Can't I do a search for my posts somewhere?

I haven't been able to search on anything in the forums for a few days without getting an error message, so I wrote to Groundspeak and got this reply:

 

Thanks for emailing Groundspeak.

 

We've been experiencing problems with the forum software's search

functionality so it has been disabled. Other functionality like the "My

Assistant" which depends on the forum's search engine will also be

disabled. We're working to isolate the problem and restore the search

functionality as fast as possible.

Another way is to look at the little envelops on the left, the envelops with a dot are threads you have posted to.

In the meantime, you can do an advanced search on Google for posts, searching for your username (or whatever) and limiting the domain to http://forums.Groundspeak.comGC/. Unfortunately, since, Google doesn't cache this site too frequently, your most recent posts may not show up. You'll have to rely on the "dot in the envelope" method mentioned by Team Red Oak for those.

As noted, it's been (temporarily?) disabled because it's busted.

 

Meanwhile, bookmark the threads that you post to using your browser's bookmark feature. Not as easy, but workable...
