Trogdor! Posted December 14, 2005 Author Posted December 14, 2005 Well then, your cache should have been archived a while ago then from the sounds of it. You can't alter the location post-approval by doing an end-around on the process with e-mails of the correct coordinates. If that were the case, then why don't I go hide a "Not Buried at the RR Tracks" cache in a nearby park and then wait a while to move it to a hole 6 ft under the rails...you know, cuz the original good spot was compromised. Then I could have people e-mail me the original puzzle coordinates to send them to the RR tracks to dig. Sorry your cache had problems, but you should feel lucky it's lasted as long as it has given your lack of attention for the site guidelines here. Seriously, pack it up, archive it, put out a new one...but realize that the only exacting control you have over the activity of cachers seeking your cache is to place it or not. AHHHHHHHHH!!!! Do you people read more than one post above? Look, the cache is gone KAPUT, PULLED, REMOVED, and NO LONGER THERE and Disabled. Toz you had plenty of time to look for this cache after solving it. Holy crap find it at the co-ordinates was the easyest part of this cache. Crying about it now is just poor sportmanship. Would some one please close this thread?
+oldnavy59 Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 Im curious how many trees were uprooted when he went and checked on the cache?? and the guy does say he helped with the translation works for me
+The Leprechauns Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 Would some one please close this thread? Ummmm, it's your thread. Just like with your cache, it is up to you when you want to pull the plug on it. And just like a cache reviewer won't archive your cache unless a cache listing guidelines violation is brought to their attention, a forum moderator won't close your thread unless there's a forum guidelines violation.
+ShowStop Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 Maybe I should archive all of my cache too. Just the puzzle caches please! I'm still hoping to get your virtuals some time soon...
+ShowStop Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 First by this cacher’s own admission he did not solve the puzzle so why shouldn’t I delete the log?? Secondly, this bit about breaking down young trees to get at a cache really disturbs me. The cache was placed fairly soon after a large fire and there has been a lot of re-growth, is this cacher suggesting that I should be responsible to maintain a “Geo-trail” to the cache? I have never met this person, but from what I’ve seen he is a fairly well respected cacher. However the attitude projected (its all about logging the find and screw the solving the puzzle and the habitat) in his log makes me mad enough that I’m thinking seriously of giving up and pulling all of my caches to prevent this from occurring again. Craig, you know I like you man. Your caches are awesome, but mostly out of my reach (I don't do the long or strenuous hikes very often). Here is my take on the situation. Your puzzle is supposed to honor or mimic the complexity of the Judge Crater puzzles. Well, I've personally tagged along on some hikes to Judge Crater caches and logged a find without solving the puzzle. I've also personally solved several of his other puzzles myself, with no outside help. Did Judge Crater delete any of my logs? No. Can you still delete my find if I did the same thing on your cache? Yeah, but is it really that big a deal? The area your cache is in is still very sensitive due to the fires from 2003. If you're concerned about possible bushwacking or other ill effects that geocachers/hikers may have on the area, you need to move the cache. The only person I will ever blame for issues with geotrails and bushwacking is the hider. Yeah you know where the cache is located, but that doesn't mean others will necessarily take the same route or the route with the least impact.
