Felix11
What happens when a travel bug is picked up Quote Link to comment
+CamoCacher
The person who picks it up logs it. After loggin it you move it along its way, trying to keep within the TB's goal. Edited December 10, 2005 by CamoCacher Quote Link to comment
+Teamhawaii1981 & blueicyrose
If you picked it up: Go to "Track Travel Bugs" in the left on the homepage. Enter the Tracking number on the top right to find the bug. Then Click "Found it Log it". Re-enter the tracking numer, make sure you are logging it from the correct cache or grabbing from the correct player. Enter a note making sure not to include the tracking number, upload some pictures. The bug is then in your inventory until you drop it. When you drop it into another cache, make sure when you log that cache to go to the bottom of your log and click on the bug(s) you dropped in. Quote Link to comment
+Markwell
It should be logged by the person picking it up. It will then go into their inventory. Ideally, they are moved to new caches, and when the person logs their visit to this other cache, they'll hopefully log that they dropped the bug in the cache. The bug will then be transferred to the inventory of the cache. Quote Link to comment
+Kai Team
In the worst case, it is kept, lost or forgotten by the person who picked it up. Then it is lost to the game and ends up with so many other bugs (2074 as of right now) in the Travel Bug Graveyard. Signal the Frog says, "Don't be a travel bug killer - keep them moving (or don't pick them up to begin with)!! Edited December 10, 2005 by Kai Team Quote Link to comment
+BlueDeuce
It's really up to the owner of the bug to give it whatever task they desire. Or no task at all. The fun of a travel bug is inventing new goals for the Travel Bug to achieve. One Bug's goal may be to reach a specific country, or travel to 10 countries. Quote Link to comment
+Wacka
Also, if you post a picture of the TB, make sure the tracking # is NOT visible. Quote Link to comment

As an aside, ever since bug owners and cache owners that are supposed to have the bug can mark the bug "missing" - the Travel Bug Graveyards are superfluous. The biggest problem with them is that they attribute false miles as they head into the graveyard, and then - if they're ever found again - add MORE miles as they head back into the real world. Don't bury them in the graveyard, just mark them as missing. Quote Link to comment
