+Vteam
I thought there was a covered bridge category so when I saw one on my way home the other day I snapped a picture to post. If doesn't exist I recommend a Covered Bridge category! What do you think? Not many around anymore. Link to comment
rescue557
I know of a few, though not many. I'd post a few locations if this category got approved. Link to comment
+Black Dog Trackers
That was proposed in September. It's a locationless cache too. Link to comment
+MapLady
We've got quite a few in Pennsylvania. I've found a few caches at covered bridges. There are some multi-caches using covered bridges in one county. I'd like to see this as a category. Link to comment

+goba-gal
I have been to many of the Ohio covered bridges and have lots of great photos. Couldn't have found them without my trusty GPS. I vote AYE!! for this category, one of my personal faves!! Link to comment
+Alan2
I created about 13 caches covering over 60 covered bridges in 4 states (VT, PA, NY, CT). Most are multiple type, one is a single and some are multi-virtuals. I've listed the coordinates for each of the bridges as you have to go to them to get clues to determine the coordinates of where the container is located. (except for the virtuals-those you have to answer questions like any other virtual). Here's the bookmark. http://www.geocaching.com/bookmarks/view.a...a2-cec7c4be64bc There are hundreds of covered bridges in the US mainly on the east coast. I've gotten great reception from cachers doing these. So with so many more to do, why not do some regular caches for those in your neighborhood? Great way to see the beauty of the CB's, the off-the-beaten-path countryside as well as combining with caching. Edited December 25, 2005 by Alan2 Link to comment
+silverquill
Absolutely! These are almost always scenic, historic fascinating sites and there are only a few U.S. states that do NOT have covered bridges. They are highly treasured here in New England. I lived just a few miles from the country's longest covered bridge (the Cornish-Windsore bridge crossing the Connecticut River) and used it often. But, Indiana, for instance, has even more! Most Canadian Provinces also have covered bridges. Here is one site that has one of the most comprehensive directories: http://www.dalejtravis.com/bridge/cbridges.htm I'm not sure why this doesn't seem to be an approved category, or sub-category under "Bridges," but it certainly should be. Good for Waymarking and also for traditional geocaching, of course. If it needs a manager, I'd be glad to assume it. Certainly would look forward to contributing to it, for sure! silverquill Link to comment
