TeamAO
I have recently collected a few railroad spikes from an abandoned historical line in hopes of making a railroad spike TB. Any ideas that with reasonable tools I can make a hole, or make a way for the dog tag to attach the tag without ruining one of my precious power drills? Any help is greatly appreciated. +GeoBlank
A carbide tipped bit should do the trick. You may also see if you have a local iron works or machine shop who might do it jsut for the pure sake of listening to the story of why you want it done Quote Link to comment
BBWolf+3Pigs
Could you just engrave the TB number onto the spike itself? Quote Link to comment
BlueDeuce
If you know anyone who welds they could add a small ring to it. You could also use one of those heavy duty glues/bonding agents. Quote Link to comment
BBWolf+3Pigs
And if you had to drill, drill at the pointy end - it's thinner. Quote Link to comment
GeoBlank
I like the engraving idea myself. It may not be easily seen as a TB though. Maybe stencel on the TB logo Quote Link to comment
