+GeoBlank
I believe causeway is the right word. When you can see three forms of transportaiton, a road, river, and train track for example, or maybe a road, sea, and airport. So the idea is to take a picture and log a causeway. If that is the wrong word then the idea still holds. Thanks Link to comment
+Team Neos
Interesting idea. In my experience, "causeway" is used to describe the natural or man-made raised area that allows vehicles to ford a drainage feature. The causeway can be made of rocks, logs, sand, shells, etc, and usually has a paved road on top. In Florida, there are many causeways that were made of land dredged up from the bays and dumped into a strip to raise the land high enough to build a road between an island or pennisula and the mainland. Think "land bridge" across marshy spots. There MUST be a word that describes exactly what you suggest "three different forms of transporatation in one place" but I can't find it. Maybe something along the lines of "trimodal"? In any case, your idea would be interesting to many people. Edited September 14, 2005 by Team Neos Link to comment
