tirediron Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 Okay, this looks cool, and hopefully puts to rest a lot of the angst that's arisen in recent months... My question: If there are locationless and virts that already exist to cover the cagegory I have in mind (Railroading) do the owners of those 'caches have first crack at the category, or if the category is accepted, do their 'caches get moved into it... or....
Ambrosia Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 The bottom of the waymark faq mentions this question.
tirediron Posted August 16, 2005 Author Posted August 16, 2005 ehhh.. to a point; I guess my question, rephrased should be: Since my category would cover several different virt/locationless, should I wait or not?
Hemlock Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 Heh. There are two identical locationless caches for steam locomotives. I wonder which owner gets to own the waymark category?
KKTH3 Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 I was going to suggest the older one until I noted that the two caches were placed on the same day! Probably explains why there was 2 approved - at the time they were both new locationless caches.
Jeremy Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 ehhh.. to a point; I guess my question, rephrased should be: Since my category would cover several different virt/locationless, should I wait or not? I think that the general idea is that a category shouldn't be overreaching. So if there is a variation of a theme (like trains) you could have train platforms, train museums and train graveyards as separate waymark categories since they can co-exist. But we're still working through the process or whether there should be a process at all.
