Rebel Alliance Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 I am looking to protect our new pda by purchasing an otterbox. Has anyone any experience of these products & if so which model? Thanks in advance Mick Quote
Semper Questio Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 Yup. I have one I use all the time. I keep my Palm, cell, my keys, a couple of pens, a small pad of paper and a couple of spare batteries in it all the time. The whole thing fits in my geobag so I can just take that stuff with me if I dont want to take my whole bag and it all stays gathered, dry, and protected. Quote
hidegoseek Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 I recently purchased the Otterbox 1900 for my Palm LifeDrive. Previously I used an aluminum hard case for the PDA, but when it starts raining, or when I'm camping or kayaking, I'll keep it in the Otterbox for protection. It's handy that you can use the Palm while in the case, and it has a back strap to keep it secure to your hand when using. Other Otterboxs I use for kayaking perform well and never leak, so I'm confident my PDA will stay dry. As far as dropping it, I'm thinking about throwing it off a roof as a test, but probably with my old PDA inside that doesn't work anymore because I dropped it. Quote
Globetrotter.uk Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 I have been using this type of box for several years now to hold all my survival kit bits. I have dropped it many times thrown it in a river and allowed a 4x4 to drive over it. And it still looks good. So I think you will find a pda will be ok inside one. Down side is will it fit your pocket? Quote
Rebel Alliance Posted August 2, 2005 Author Posted August 2, 2005 pocket fitting is not a problem as I have to transport Eva in her rucksack. Was thinking about the 1900 or the 2600 models Quote
