dino-irl Posted July 9, 2005 Posted July 9, 2005 This idiot left this delightful log on my cache. Is there anyway GC.com can ban him to stop him doing it to others. I've heard it is possible for the powers that be to ban specific IP addresses. Is this true?
Team GPSaxophone Posted July 9, 2005 Posted July 9, 2005 Can't read the log, but his(?) profile leaves a lot to be desired
dino-irl Posted July 9, 2005 Author Posted July 9, 2005 Apologies. I deleted the log and as I could still read it, I assumed that anyone logged on could also see it. It went as follows (not pleasant reading!): You bostard! you left the light on and it phucking wasted the battery on the torch. Ari&Anu left some faeces in the tupperware box and the amigos left their homemade juice on my fingers. Up yours homie! I'm assuming its a bloke as somehow I don't see a woman doing something so stupid or childish as this (and I'm male for the record).
carleenp Posted July 9, 2005 Posted July 9, 2005 Write to the contact address. That looks like a banned member waiting to happen.
geo_trekers Posted July 9, 2005 Posted July 9, 2005 Definitly needs to be baned! Profile suggests it also.
Moose Mob Posted July 9, 2005 Posted July 9, 2005 Unless TPTB pick get bored at home, this may wait until Monday before any action is taken. Unless one of the Mods have that power? I wonder if it's a sock puppet?
BlueDeuce Posted July 9, 2005 Posted July 9, 2005 I prefer to give these types as little of publicity as possible and simply email my approver or contact@Groundspeak.com
geognerd Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 Just wondering, does geocaching.com filter user names? For example, if someone tried to sign up with the F-word as part of their user name, would the site return an error saying the name is unacceptable? I know I wouldn't want to see profane user names, and I'm sure parents wouldn't want their kids to see that either.
Jeremy Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 Just wondering, does geocaching.com filter user names? No. We do ban accounts however.
